She was raised in an luxurious Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan by a Catholic family. Her parents enrolled their daughter at the Convent of the Sacred Heart which is a prestigious religious institution. She was very fond of music as an infant. She learned how to play the piano and at thirteen she wrote her first song. She was a participant at open mics. She was a huge fan of Queen Michael Jackson Madonna, and David Bowie. Upon completion of high school she enrolled at the New York University's Tisch School of Art to study music. However, after finishing high school, she entered The Tisch School of Art at New York University to study music.
